Pacific Coast Stage Co. nurtures Central Vancouver Island’s emerging theatre artists. We facilitate collaboration, development, and experimentation with all artists we work with, and are committed to the preservation of unbounded artistic freedom.

mandate

  • present, serve and represent professional theatre

  • contribute to the growth of Canadian theatre by supporting emerging and established artists, facilitating artistic experimentation and collaboration, and providing creative and professional development opportunities

  • present an annual Nanaimo Fringe Festival, honouring the five criteria required for CAFF membership

  • promote diverse and inclusive theatre presenting practices by facilitating regional, national, and international partnerships

  • encourage theatre as a recreational and educational activity through strategic public outreach initiatives

charitable purposes

  • to produce performing arts festivals for the purposes of educating and advancing the public's understanding and appreciation of performing arts and to educate artists through participation in such festivals and related workshops

  • to advance the public’s appreciation of the arts by providing high-quality artistic performances in public places

  • to advance education by providing instructional seminars on topics related to the performing and visual arts to the public

  • to undertake activities ancillary and incidental to the attainment of the above-mentioned charitable purposes
