Percolate

Percolate - a theatrical duet steeped in intimacy, blurring the lines between performance and reality, while nestled in the booths of White Rabbit Café. Two new short plays penned by local voices, Percolate blends everyday life with grounded and steaming moments of connection, conflict, and caffeine. The audience sits among the action, drink in hand, immersed in the brewing drama. Come curious, leave stirred—and maybe laughing into your latte.

What is Percolate?

Percolate is an original, site specific theatrical project that will elevate the voices of five newcomer/ immigrant BIPOC playwrights who live in the Nanaimo region ; these artists will be commissioned to write one act plays that explore anti-racist strategies/solutions to communal challenges within the region. These plays will be performed by marginalized artists at a site specific coffee house, White Rabbit at 321 Selby Street in Nanaimo’s Old City Quarter.

This project is a site-responsive, positive immersive experience that focuses on creating harmony and challenges audiences to listen with an open heart.

The project will be co-led by Larissa Coser and Tamara McCarthy, both residents of Nanaimo, and established professional theatre artists.
